It's been over a year since the release of The Conjuring 2, and now we're finally getting our first look at the upcoming sequel with the trailer for The Conjuring 3. So, I thought it would be fun to look back at all six films and try and answer some of the major questions presented about them: who is Vera Farminga? What caused her 'conjuration'? Is she really possessed? And what's going on in that creepy painting? Let's get into it. Vera Farminga is just as much a mystery now as she was when we first met her in "The Conjuring. So, just who is this woman? Well, let's see if I can break it down for you. She was born Vera Louise Farminga in Vancouver on October 24, 1921. She was the youngest child of her family, but she had a mischievous nature that led her to do some pretty crazy things as a child. For instance, at five years old she had an accident with the telegraph wire while walking to school. Not wanting anyone to know what happened she told everyone that she fell out of the telegraph pole onto the ground. Apparently she was a bit of a trouble maker from a young age. But that's not the biggest secret in Vera's life. When she was 12, she ran away from home for three days. When her parents found her, they were furious and told her if she did it again they would put her in a reformatory. Well, Vera decided to run away again when she was 14 years old, but this time her parents didn't find her so quickly and the police found the little runaway all by herself wandering down by the docks one night. She was brought to an orphanage for wayward girls where she stayed until she turned 18 years old. Well, it turns out that don't just run away twice and you're off to an orphanage. Vera actually ran away 11 times between the ages of 12 and 16 and every time she got caught she was sent to a different orphanage. The last time she got sent away she stayed in an orphange for girls who were considered incorrigible. She was released when she turned 18 and even though her parents didn't want anything to do with her, they did allow her to stay at their house until something better came along. Which seems to be exactly what happened because about a year later, in 1940, Vera met Leonard MacLeod…and the rest is history. Leonard and Vera fell in love and though they weren't married for long before Vera's parents demanded that Leonard move out of the house. Leonard moved into an apartment that he lived in with Vera. And then tragedy struck! In 1962, Leonard and Vera's first born son, John (who played the young boy) died at six years old from a horrific dog bite. To make matters worse, his older brother Lawrence died three years later from the same dog bite. These tragedies were too much for Vera and she left her husband after Lawrence passed away. She moved out of their apartment but continued to stay in touch with him through letters until they finally divorced in 1978. cfa1e77820
